If this is a car rental agreement or form, many companies use the term "renter" to specify exactly what sort of client/customer it is (ie many companies also provide cars and drivers, etc, but "Renter" is the normal situation in which JUST the car (and then about twice as much in insurance!) is covered by the contract (no driver, no tours)... ;)

Visto che la persona a cui si riferisci è un cliente che noleggia un vehicle direi che non serve termini complicati.... pertanto "customer" dovrebbe essere sufficiente e appropriato. :-)
