Italiano term

tirocinio di orientamento e formazione

Da Italiano a Inglese Legale/Brevetti Legale: Contratti
CONVENZIONE PER L’ORGANIZZAZIONE DI UN TIROCINIO DI ORIENTAMENTO E FORMAZIONE ALL’ESTERO

I want to translate with "AGREEMENT FOR THE ORGANIZATION OF A TRAINING AND VOCATIONAL GUIDANCE APPRENTICESHIP" but it seems too wordy

how about 'VOCATIONAL GUIDANCE TRAINEESHIP' instead of 'TRAINING AND VOCATIONAL GUIDANCE APPRENTICESHIP'?

Discussion

James (Jim) Davis Apr 3, 2009:
I would go for traineeship. An apprenticeship of very old fashioned for manual crafts. If it is a contract, then the important thing is to be accurate in terms of what really happens.
Lietta Warren-Granato (asker) Apr 2, 2009:
context This is a formal agreement i.e. a contract. That's why I wanted to include 'apprenticeship' or 'traineeship'.

on-the-job training and career counselling / vocational guidance

However, I would drop the "career counselling" (UK) and "vocational guidance" bit if in fact the "orientamento" is just verbal padding meaning simply that the on-the-job training just gives them the chance to find their way around and they don't get professional career guidance. Would be strange for an Italian to go to London or New York for example to get career guidance. Better to get it before going ;-)
