Italiano term
Alcuni attori del territorio
Da Italiano a Inglese
Scienze sociali
Energia/Produzione di energia
The word "attori" comes up several times in this piece on renewable energy. It is an official report on different renewable methods and the pros and cons of its use.
I initially translated it as "actors", however, I'm not sure if this is the correct word used for this type of text. I also considered "players", but thought the register too low. I was wondering if anyone has any alternative suggestions, or thinks that either of the above are suitable for the text?
Two of the sentences it comes into are;
"Alcuni attori del territorio hanno evidenziato i costi e la mancanza di risorse per agire sul patrimonio esistente"
"E' necessario individuare opportune modalita' per coinvolgere gli attori privati, sia in ambito residenziale, sia in quello produttivo"

some local players
I think players is best for the register. "Actors" is OK as a highly technical term in sociology, which doesn't seem the case. I've given "local" for "del territorio" otherwise you need something like "in the community" or "on the market" depending on context, of even "in the region/area".

i think "attori" will change according to te sentence. "territorio" is normally "local area" etc.

for "alcuni" i imagine you can put "some", "several", "a few" etc.

some of these "attori" may even be "interest groups" in certain cases.

What about stakeholder?
I think it could in some cases be the appropriate term (maybe not for all instances)

Discussion
Competition comes both from **incumbent players** and new market
entrants." and I think that at this technical level it could even be used in a contract.
