Thrilled to be able to do this online!Jan 12, 2011

I've owned the software for over a year but I've never been able to start using it. I live far from a large city. Last winter there were three Saturday training sessions offered by a member of my regional translating and interpreting association. On two of the three Saturdays, there were huge snowstorms and I couldn't get there. Consequently, I'm still getting along with Translator's Workbench. I am absolutely delighted to be able to take this class online!

Hi Anne, glad that you will be able to participate. Do consider taking a full 3 hour online training course as well. ProZ.com offers 3 hour instructor led SDL Trados training including the manuals, sample files and certification exams. The full list of sessions and times can be found at http://www.proz.com/translator-training/topic/sdl-trados-certified

The free webinar is an introduction and will only be 1 hour. The free webinar will give you some good information and tools to use, but a full 3 hour instructor led online course will provide you with quite a bit more understanding. Additionally we have over 200 registered for the webinar, so you will likely only be able to listen/watch, while the 3 hour instructor led online courses have an average of 8-10 attendees permitting some interaction and questions and answers.

Right now ProZ.com is conducting a 48 hour sale on SDL Trados online training. You can purchase a credit to be used on any of the SDL Trados training courses for $89 - $10 off the normal price of $99.

To purchase your discounted seat visit - https://www.proz.com/store/5591
This store item will only be active until 15:00 GMT Friday

I'd like to know if you must have any kind of insight about the program to attend this webinar. Also, Must I install Voip, or having firefox is enough?

Thanks you.

Prior knowledge not neccessary, VoiP merely need speakers or a headsetJan 24, 2011

Attendees need not have much in the way of prior knowledge of Studio 2009, but it would be helpful if attendees knew the basics of translation memory. Attendees will be in listen only, so in terms of VoiP, all that is needed is to be able to listen - speakers, or headset. Nothing should need to be installed. Gotowebinar may need to install some software, but you will be prompted when joining to install this software. Firefox will be fine.

Thanks

Drew

questionJan 26, 2011

Hi,

I use SDL trados 2007 and haven't purchsed Trados Studio. Can I still attend and find the webinar useful if I don't have the product which you're talking about and referring to?

Regards

Nathalie

Likely some value for those that have not upgraded to Studio 2009Jan 26, 2011

HI Nathalie. The presentation will still be valuable as you might learn a few things about 2007, and would be a good introduction to Studio 2009 in the event you are in the market to upgrade soon. There are some functions and features that are definitely unique to Studio 2009, but I am sure it will still be a valuable session.

Regards,

Drew

SDL Trados is not necessary to participate in this webinarJan 31, 2011

Hi Shatha,

SDL Trados is not necessary to participate in this webinar. The software features will be presented via the speaker's machine.

Google Chrome 5.0 or newer (JavaScript and Java enabled) will be fine. Internet Explorer 7.0 or newer or Mozilla Firefox 3.0 or newer will also work.

Please let me know if I can help you with anything else.

Regards,

Soledad

I was wondering if there is going to be a way to review the webinar afterwards, just in case I can't attend during the complete hour.
