Italian term

atte a sopportare i P.P. + 150 sovraccarico

Italian to English Tech/Engineering Construction / Civil Engineering roofing specifications
I have no idea what P.P. could mean here! Thanks in advance for any suggestions you can give.

Context: specifications describing a building with a double-slope roof

Travi semicircolari di collegamento in c.a.p.
Travi semicircolari di collegamento in c.a.p. a fili aderenti confezionate con cls. di caratteristica Rck – 400 kg/cmq., H – cm 40, atte a sopportare i P.P. + 150 sovraccarico.

(c.a.p. a fili aderente = prestressed, fibre-reinforced concrete)

Elsewhere in the short text, there is mention of pilastri prefabbricati (prefabricated pillars), but the main beams would surely go on top of these pillars, so they cannot support them:

Pilastri a sezione costante

Discussion

Gary Key (asker) May 3, 2006:
apologies: manovilianza --> manovalanza. There might be one or two more typos as I hade to type it out from a JPEG file... P.P. is not a typo though !

able to carry the dead load + 150 live load

"dead load" means the weight of the beams themselves and of the (roof) elements that they support, "live load" refers to snow, people and equipment that may be present on the roof. It is not clear what "150" stands for, but presumably it means 150 kilograms per square meter, a normal snow load in northern Italy.
Note: the concrete is not fiber-reinforced but prestressed by steel wires (piano wire) adhering to the concrete.
