pasta occhiata

Italian to English Other Food & Drink Cheese
Describing a cheese it says: "formaggio pressato a pasta occhiata" which means "con occhiatura" as described in Formaggio.it. Any idea what the English is???

Eyes Even if "eyes" is used for food, it still sounds odd to me. For other items, such as garments or DIY parts, maybe it works, but it sounds wrong for food.
