Italian term or phrase: acqua sanitaria
I am translating an Italian text that uses the English expression "Sanitary water", a term I have never heard despite 35 years in the building industry.
Lots of internet searching brings me the conclusion that in British English (in the few instances found) it just means clean healthy water, while in US English it is a synonym for "gray water", which in Britain we call waste water.
The difference is crucial to the whole document and I should be very grateful for an Italian definition of "acqua sanitaria", since I assume this is intended to be a literal translation.

Hypochlorite solution/sanitizer solution

Explanation:
In Brazil, for instance, "água sanitária"(=acqua sanitaria, litterally) is used for sodium hypochlorite solution in water employed as general sanitizer.

clean (healthy) water

Explanation:
Non sono riuscita a trovare una vera e propria definizione se non quella nel link. Si tratta di comune acqua che esce da rubinetti collegati ad un acquedotto. Quindi è acqua ad uso civile

i.e. water for sanitary uses as opposed to "acqua potabile" (drinking water)

There is no reference whatever in the source to "domestic" "hot" or "system", so I fail to understand why some people are suggesting them.

non importa dove sia l'acqua - all'interno di una caldaia, in un bicchiere, in una tubazione, in uscita da un rubinetto. Non importa neanche che sia calda o fredda. Il termine da tradurre è "acqua sanitaria". Punto.

mains water (supply)

Explanation:
Very belated, I know, but for posterity: having just read quite a number of definitions and other comments on this, I have come to the conclusion that it is simply what in the UK we refer to as the mains water supply, i.e. the water that the water companies' pipes carry into our homes and businesses. It is then heated when necessary and is usually potable but all of this is not specifically included in the term "acqua sanitaria" any more than it is in "mains water supply".
