Hi everyone,
I'm hoping someone can help me with the placement of some hyphens. I'm currently editing a brochure for a commercial enterprise. The text I have come across reads as follows:
Entrepreneurial Excellence
Business Focused

Would you place a hyphen within "Business Focused"? If this phrase were used as an adjective, there would be no doubt. However, as a subtitle, should it be hyphenated?
And where would the hyphen(s) go in "Business and Personal Use Focused"?
Thanks in advance for your help! I want to make sure I get this right. ▲ Collapse

Since you are dealing with titles and subtitles here, I would suggest you leave them as they are. They are not running text, more like labels and may be allowed to disregard grammatical niceties.

Hyphens are used in prose in line with certain rules of grammar, principally to make the text easier to understand.
In contrast, headers, sub-headers and lots of other snippets found in commercial blurb (also in the media...) are designed mainly to catch the reader's attention with one or two of key(-)words, and often without regard to the 'rules'.
