Dear friends and colleagues,

I would like to invite you to visit a powwow gathering in my beautiful historical home town, Kutna Hora.

Since the weekend gathering in Hlinsko has set the powwow standard to another level, my great city offers me plenty of opportunities which I have to make use of. In order to double your impressions from this beautiful historical city and its atmosphere, I purposely set the date of the gathering on 22 June, when there is the traditional Royal Silvering historical event in the town.

Our base camp will be located in the very stylish old Bohemian tavern Dacicky where the powwow will take place. You will love their menu, guaranteed.

The programme is following:

Friday, 21st June 2013:

* Pre-Powwow - arrival, accommodation, dinner etc. :) at V Ruthardce pub, then, if interested, welcome drink at the award-winning Cocktail Bar Barborska. (Whereas the city will be crowded this weekend, we will probably need to make a booking even for the pre-powwow dinner and drinks. The same goes for the welcome drink at the bar. Please do let me know who will arrive already on Friday.)

Saturday, 22nd June 2013:

* 07:00 For those (hyper)active interested in an early morning run (or bicycle ride as well!) we can arrange some short run around the town centre in order to manage your hotel breakfast, or we can take a short local train ride and run back to Kutna Hora along a picturesque valley of the Vrchlice river (+/- 8 km), or, in addition to that, pay a short visit to the ruins of the Hussite castle Sion along the run (+/- 12,5 km). We will have 2 hours for our return back to catch the museum visit.

* 10:00 - Czech Museum of Silver, where we will visit "The Way of Silver" guided tour to the medieval silver mine. The tour takes 1.5 hour and costs 120 CZK/person. Please do let me know via a simple note "CMS YES" who is interested in visiting the museum in order to make a booking in advance.

*12:00 - lunch

*13:30 - St. Barbara Cathedral - 60 CZK/person

*15:30 - Bobsleigh Track :) (1 ride=2 tracks, 1 ride for 60 CZK, 5 rides for 240 CZK (ticket can be shared))

*17:00 - POWWOW at Dacicky pub

Note: There is so much to see in Kutna Hora that it is not possible to include everything into the one-day powwow programme. In case that some of you want to see or visit anything else or spend some time at the royal silvering programme (not known yet) instead of some part of our programme, we will meet at 17:00 at Dacicky pub. Or, stay over Sunday... when the royal silvering programme continues :) (We will arrange this possibility at a later stage.)

Sunday, 23rd June 2013:

MORNING HANGOVER RUN! :) - As on Saturday, around the town centre or a round trip through the Vrchlice river valley...

Accommodation

As a very busy tourist town, Kutna Hora has plenty of accommodation capacities. However, as the powwow will take place during the same weekend as the Royal Silvering, the whole town will be very crowded and hotels will be probably in full swing. If you are already sure you will attend the powwow, make your booking reasonably well in advance!


You can make your choice and bookings for example HERE. As far as I know, I can recommend these - Hotel Opat, Hotel U Kata, and Hotel U Varhanare - but these are often fully booked, there are also many, many others.
