Italiano term

presupporre/malificenza

Da Italiano a Inglese Altro Altro
This is the full sentence:
La posizione di chi sostiene l’importanza di proseguire in questo tipo di ricerca e investimento medico-sanitario, non sembra né presupporre, né rispettare il principio di beneficenza e non malificenza.

I don't understand what they mean by presupporre here and cannot find an English translation for malificenza.

Any ideas?

adhere to/doing no harm

I'm looking at the sentence more contextually, and this appears to work. In any case, the second part appears to echo the Hippocratic Oath--that's my thinking. You might want to explore variations on that.

I would like to add that my "doing no harm" includes the "non" in front of "malificenza." It is certainly beneficienza's antonym!
