Da Italiano a Inglese Medico/Sanitario Medicina (generale) laboratory tests

This is from a report on a patient hospitalized for prolonged fever with pancytopenia, pulmonary consolidation and hepatosplenomegaly ... the final diagnoses were multiple sclerosis, pneumonia and brucellosis.

The report states "abbiamo fatto esequire una valutazione ematologica...." and under tests performed, we have "Routine di laboratorio (emocromo, indici epatici, renali ... etc.) ECG, emoculture, BOM [biopsia osteomidollare] *valutazione ematologica* TAC torace, ecografia addominale ....

So this is different from the complete blood count (emocromo) since they're mentioned separately.

I could just translate the words as "hematological evaluation" ... but I don't know what it refers to; I think it needs a more specific translation (or at least I need to understand the difference between this and the emocromo).

What is this "valutazione ematologica" and how would we say it in English?
