Glossary entry (derived from question below)
Italiano term or phrase:
valutazione ematologica
Inglese translation:
hematology evaluation
Italiano term
valutazione ematologica
The report states "abbiamo fatto esequire una valutazione ematologica...." and under tests performed, we have "Routine di laboratorio (emocromo, indici epatici, renali ... etc.) ECG, emoculture, BOM [biopsia osteomidollare] *valutazione ematologica* TAC torace, ecografia addominale ....
So this is different from the complete blood count (emocromo) since they're mentioned separately.
I could just translate the words as "hematological evaluation" ... but I don't know what it refers to; I think it needs a more specific translation (or at least I need to understand the difference between this and the emocromo).
What is this "valutazione ematologica" and how would we say it in English?
Thanks for your help.

Ciao Giuseppe. Glad to be of help. Yeah, you can say "evaluation by a hematolopgist", though, admittedly splitting hairs, in theory it may be that they run full hematological tests (lab), which are then evaluated by an internist or, I dunno, an endocrinologist or by whomever is the principal medico in the case (hopefully non a surgeon!). So, maybe "evaluation by hematologist" is too specific: the evaluation is hematological, but who does it... theoretically, we don't know.
The photo is a year old. I call it "a happy state of slavery". I just wish it never ends.
I get your point about "by a hematologist". In my translation I said "haematology evaluation". Grazie di nuovo, felice schiavo. |
