Italiano term

L’intermediario NON è detentore o meno

Da Italiano a Inglese Affari/Finanza Assicurazioni
From standard ALLEGATO N. 7B to a brokerage/insurance agreement. I know it's a direct quote from the ISVAP regs but the 'non ... o meno' seems odd:

PARTE II - Informazioni relative a potenziali situazioni di conflitto d’interessi

a) **L’intermediario NON è detentore o meno** di una partecipazione diretta o indiretta superiore al 10% del capitale sociale o dei diritti di voto di un’impresa di assicurazione

Part b) says the same about an insurance company.

Can I put 'whether or not' or, given the emphasis on the 'non', should it be just 'is NOT'?

Thanks

The agent is or is not

Hi Maryrose looking here: http://www.kredito.it/Allegati 7A e 7B ISVAP.pdf
The key seems to lie in the Sì or No answer required.

Barrare: SI o NO

Should be: "is or is not the holder" or alternativel "does or does not hold"

Don't know why I put agent, meant to put broker. I couldn't see any sense to it, until I saw that site. Then it was clear, no other solution. Perphaps your text was "lifted" from the questionnaire and the author didn't "adjust it appropriately" for the new context, in which case I would do that with your translation.
Note from asker:
Thanks, Jim, I'd looked on that site too and take your point. I'm interested you put 'agent' - I'd been putting 'broker' as in insurance broker.
Indeed, I've found it has been lifted but with bits left out so there are no verbs here and there so I had to go back to the site to make sense of it and have had to do quite a bit of adjustment!
