L'uovo pensa di essere (o "è") più intelligente della gallina
Secondo me c'è un problema con il sorgente (una traduzione in inglese dallo yiddish?), sia per quel "cleverer", sia perché il confronto tra "hen" e "chicken" non ha molto senso.
Io ho trovato questo, che mi sembra avere più senso nel contesto che hai citato tu:
די אייער ווילן זײַן קליגער פֿון די הינער.
Di eyer viln zayn kliger fun di hiner.

Io tradurrei così perché se il nipote è arrogante magari il nonno lo rimprovera dicendo che crede di saper tutto seppur più giovane.
