Hello! I wonder whether someone could help me as I am quite lost. I finished my M.A in conference interpreting some months ago and since then I ve done a few simultaneous jobs. Hello! I wonder whether someone could help me as I am quite lost. I finished my M.A in conference interpreting some months ago and since then I ve done a few simultaneous jobs. My problem is with rates, I do not know how much to charge for each speciality or whether to charge the same for all languages in my combination. I wonder if there´s some web site or association which offers beginners advice with these questions. I love interpreting and I wouldn´t like to charge too little to the detriment of other coleagues and demean the profession as a whole. On the other hand, I don´t want to overcharge the client.
I saw the rates in a Spanish web page EIZIE, however I don´t know if those prices can be applied to agencies or just to direct clients. This is so frustrating, it should be the first thing to be taught at university, even before note taking!!
Thank you very much.

Hello Leticia

I think the minimum for your classifications is 50 Euro per hour. Maybe more. Depends the experiences.

professional associations Nov 1, 2007

I do not know about Spain, but in France you have professional associations which carry on a survey among members every year, and then publish the results, so you can have an idea of the average rates.
And what about AIIC?
