Nancy Lynn Hancock is an interpreter and translator (and former language instructor) based in the Seaway Valley, Eastern Ontario, Canada. Her languages are English and Canadian French.

Nancy is a member of the simultaneous interpretation team for the leading Canadian television news channel, and in this capacity was one of two interpreters to cover the 2008, 2011 and 2015 federal election campaigns in Canada as well as the 2012 and 2014 Québec provincial elections.

Live events keep her busy every week, including press conferences, speeches and state visits by such guests as Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Charles and President Sarkozy, and was on hand to interpret the 100th anniversary of WWII.

She also interpreted live coverage of the 2010 Vancouver Olympic Games, including the conferences leading up to the great event, as well as the London Summer Olympics, and was the main interpreter for the Holy See elections in 2013.

Regular annual events include the Speech from the Throne, Canada Day events and the Remembrance Day Ceremony.

In 2014 she was a member of the interpreting team for the APT (Association for Preservation Technology International) 5-day conference in Québec City, which was a series of presentations on the conservation of historical buildings by civil engineers, architects, historians, craftsmen and many others in the construction and architecture sector.

Her specializations in translation include handwritten patient charts, medical questionnaires and consent forms, menus, cookbooks, tourism, agrofood, nutrition, food labels, food chemistry, and of course Canadian politics and current events.

A particular interest is cookbooks; in 2008, Nancy translated À la di Stasio, a book based on a popular cooking show in Quebec. Three other full-length cookbooks by other authors soon followed.
