Atena Hensch Nuova Zelanda Local time: 20:05 Da Persiano (farsi) a Inglese + ...
Sep 15, 2007
Hi everybody
I do telephone interpreting for New Zealand and I will be able to do telephone interpreting for Australia when I get my NAATI accriditation (finger cross). My question: What are the chances of doing telephone interpreting for the UK or USA from New Zealand?
cheers
Atena

Hi Atena.
For the USA, the East Coast of the USA is 15 hours behind you. The West Coast of the USA is an addtional 3 -4 hours behind the East Coast. So there should be some overlap in hours - i.e. When it is Morning in NZ, you can get some afternoon and evening hours from the USA.

You best bet is still probably Australia, since they are 3 hours behind you I assume. ▲ Collapse

Telephonic interpreting
Sep 24, 2007
Hi everyone,
I do telephonic interpreting for the UK market only. One of their conditions was to use a UK landline (neither a mobile phone nor a VOIP phone) due to bad quality of voice. It might just be my company that is so strict. You could always give it a try.
