Explanation:
There is a slight difference between the two. Residence means: 1. The place in which one lives; a dwelling. 2. The act or a period of residing in a place. 4. The official home or location of a corporation.
As for residency it incorporates the above meanings. However, u may say "I have residency in the UK" to mean u have a resident status. And if u say "I have residence in the UK", it does not necessarily mean that, as it also indicates that u have a dwelling place there.
Well, the difference is very slight. So, take ur pick.
