ISOTHERMY—In Limnology, a state in which a lake is at the same temperature throughout and is well-mixed. Periods of isothermy occur in Spring and Autumn in Dimictic Lakes.

Credo che la prova di isotermia sia una prova specifica e non generica sui veicoli refrigerati. Significa che la temperatura deve essere costante, mentre in molti casi si può passare da -5 a -10°C (ad es. ma questa non è isotermia).
Lo stesso discorso (in un latro campo) è dire che un compressore lavora a 7 bar con una regolazione fra 6 ed 8 bar (regolazione on-off tramite due pressostati); se si vuole una pressione costante si farà uso di un regolatore di pressione (pressure controller) ed il compressore lavorerà a 7 bar con una oscillazione di 0,05 bar (6,95-7,05). La rete avrà una isobara.
