I have suggested these two based on my translation of "ogle" for this term. I don't think ogle gives a very positive connotation. If "Eyes out on stalks" is a bit strong, "all eyes to focus on" is quite common IMO.

In this case "fare l'occhiolino" means that you look to something with desire, you want something or you want to look like something.

Another option would be:
fare l'occhiolino a qualcosa: to fancy something
