It would mean payment is in a unique form, could not be replaced by anything else, e.g. land adjoining a factory, because other non adjacent land would not be so useful. To translate corrispettivo with compensation, would imply damage of an insurable type. Consideration or simply payment is the normal translation for "corrispettivo" in a contract.
