Italiano term

individuale

YYYYYY

What does individual mean hear. I don't think they mean "ditta individuale" because of the interposition of a proper name. I've never heard of this usage.

Any ideas

Discussion

Malcolm Rowe Jan 3, 2012:
Self-employed person/individual? Not specifically in the context above but could "ditta individuale" be translated as "self-employed person/individual" in the context of a VAT certificate in the box identifying the type of tax subject?

one-man business

oppure individual concern
I believe that "ditta individuale" is the meaning. They might have done a mistake putting the name of the concern in that place

Individual Holding

to this individual company / to this company specifically

is what I make out of it. In other words, just a matter of speech and one should not look for more than there is behind it.

leave it out

I think both Massimo and Barbara have the right idea. But even if it were a larger company (and "ragione sociale" or "denominazione sociale" were applicable") in English we would not "define" what they are by their name and simply refer to them by the name they trade under.

Eg: "Wallace & Grommit, builder merchants"
not: "partnership Wallace & Grommit"

Hope I have made myself clear, but not so sure...
