The family is the heart of our society, of civilization itself. This has always been the case, in every culture and every country throughout history. Nothing has a greater influence over an individual than the family unit…not school, not profession, not even church or synagogue. The family of origin, that is the family we are born into, gives us our original blueprint for how to see self, others, life, and God. It is our first teacher. This is not to say that we are necessarily controlled by our pasts. Certainly healing and growth can happen at any stage in life’s journey, but as long as we live we will be interacting with our original families, if not face to face at least in our hearts and minds.

: però "innato" significa esattamente l'opposto di "appreso" -anzi, addirittura instillato (sia pure nei primi anni di vita); probabilmente "di base", "di fondo" andrebbe bene, invece

: imprinting è un termine tecnico ben preciso (se guardi Wikipedia vedrai che implica una predisposizione genetica a uno specifico tipo di apprendimento, che qui non c'è); IMHO sarebbe meglio non usarlo in termini metaforici (o almeno tra virgolette...)

: BTW, usare qui "impronta genetica" non sarebbe troppo scientifico, ma anti- o pseudo-scientifico - ciò che viene dalla famiglia non è trasmesso geneticamente, ma per via culturale!
