Brava Pamela! Esattamente così: "carica cava" che descrive esattamente come l'esplosivo é "shaped" per penetrare corazzature.

La carica cava è un tipo di esplosivo che si basa sul cosiddetto effetto Munroe, dato che si dice che questo studioso avesse scoperto, alla fine del XIX secolo, che le lettere impresse in panetti di esplosivo usati per rompere strutture metalliche, avevano uno stranissimo effetto sul metallo. <br />Esse venivano letteralmente &quot;disegnate&quot; sulla superficie. Occorreva capirne il perché, dal momento che questa era una scoperta dalle possibilità potenzialmente straordinarie. Tagliare il metallo con pochi grammi di esplosivo, per esempio, poteva essere utile in opere di demolizione di strutture civili; una modica quantità di esplosivo poteva perforare strutture di metallo che solo un ordigno nucleare avrebbe potuto altrettanto bene superare.
