Hi all,

I am on a very, very big project now. With one of the files, I have a problem. The file contains over 40,500 segments, of which many are locked.
After many, many hours of work, I thought I would finish the translation for that file. However, it is stranding on 99%.
There are not anymore empty segments and no pre-translations left. So, somewhere, there have to be unconfirmed segments.
Is there a way in MemoQ to confirm ALL segments?
Or alternatively, w

Or alternatively, when I run QA, does it say that there are unconfirmed segments?
Thank you in advance for your answer.

This happens when there are unconfirmed locked segments.

Have you tried running a filter for unconfirmed segments? That should find the offending segment(s).

You can filter all the unconfirmed segments and see why they are not confirmed. Most probably they are locked as Wolfgang mentioned above.

Hi Rachel,

Thank you for your reply. Sounds logical; but incredibly, I can't find a Filter function in my MemoQ 9.0 ...

Best regards,
Jan

Right on top of the translation grid, on the right. There's a cogwheel, a funnel with a +. Here you will find the filter options.

Thank you so much for the reply. But - again incredible - I don't have that cog wheel. What's wrong with my MemoQ?

If you don't have the filter bar, there is something very wrong with your software. If that's the case, I would suggest that you uninstall and reinstall it. This will not cause any lose of settings, configuration or data.

You can also do it manually... Sep 23

Incidentally, you can also click the first segment number in the grid (with your left mouse button), then scroll all the way to the bottom of the grid, click shift, and click the very last segment (again with your left mouse button). Now, either click Ctrl+Enter, or: Translation > Confirm (from the menu).

That looks like a Trados method.

It's easier in memoQ:

Select all: Ctrl+Shift+A
Confirm all: Ctrl+Enter

Or Preparation (tab) > Confirm and Update

I didn't even mention it, it's so evident for MemoQ users.
IIRC, this Confirm all does not confirm locked segments, though. But since your customer locked them unconfirmed, it should not be your problem.

Hi Wolfgang,

Thank you for your answers. Yes, could or should have done that. I am under too much time pressure. Meanwhile, since the replies here didn't directly help me in my situation, I contacted the agency and asked them for some technical assistance. They gave me that and found indeed 1 segment that was not confirmed.
Thanks again and thank you all.

You can also create a view with just locked segments:
Select your file.
Click Create View.
Select Advanced options.
Select All rows.
Click the second tab: Status.
On the right under Locked or not, select Only locked rows.
Give your view a name and press OK.
