Inglese term

Matching contributions/Catch up contributions

Homework / test Da Inglese a Italiano Legale/Brevetti Legale: Tasse e Dogane
Contesto: The employer will make matching contributions in an amount equal to 50% up to 7% of your eligible compensation.
Per catch up contributions non ho contesto rilevante! Grazie!!

Discussion

Non-ProZ.com Mar 10, 2005:
thanks Thanks for your explanation... I was wondering whether there is an equivalent in Italian, though.
I know there is a difference, they are two distinct parts of the translation.

Thank you

The catch-up contribution provision provides that, effective for plan years starting on or after January 1, 2002, 401k plans may permit participants age 50 and over to make additional "catch-up" contributions.)

there is a difference

between "Matching and Catching up" to match (pari a , uguale a ) while **catch up** means (riassorbire, recuperare) in the 401K the employer (like in Italy) matches (pareggia or equalizza o uguaglia ) the amount of money in the retirment plan.

OK. so you use \"to match\" (Il datore di lavoro versa una quota di pagamento per il fondo pensione pari a quella del dipendente)for contributions that the employer pays to the retirement plan. If there are two distinct parts of the translations then you should place the second sentence/paragraph with the term \"catch up\"

Hi elle_bi, while for the \"matching up\" there is an equivalent(Il datore di lavoro versa una quota di pagamento per il fondo pensione pari a quella del dipendente)(whihc the curernt plan handled at the Stae\'s level) for the catch-up I do not believe that such situations exist, due to the fact that there are no (private)pension plans approved by the State and handled at the employers level. While the 401K was the answer to the ever so dwindling Social Security financialstatus in the US, thus in the 70\'s the Gov. insituted the possibility of setting up a tax free pension plan co-financed by both employer and employee.you
