English term or phrase: needlepoint sampler
Hello All,

I am looking for the specific term that would be used in French for a "needlepoint sampler". A sampler would be a old-fashioned style of needlepoint that would often be done by a young girl learning the art. It typically would have the alphabet, numbers, and various motifs all done in needlepoint. This specific creation is referred to as a "sampler".

I am finding that tapisserie, broderie etc are too general. I need to know the "sampler" aspect of this type of creation.

Here is a link to see examples of "samplers". https://www.antiquesamplers.com/samplers/index.html

Many thanks!

Abécédaire au point de croix (ou abécédaire point de croix)

Explanation:
You have to specify « point de croix » so that we know you are talking about embroidery. Otherwise, the « abécédaire «  could be a book or anything else not necessarily what you are talking about here.
