déboutonnage

Tech/Engineering - Construction / Civil Engineering / Material/assembly strength testing
French term or phrase: déboutonnage
This appears in a description of the minimum strengths of the elements of a roofing system.
The porteurs are channels onto which are clipped clear polycarbonate roof panels.
This bullet point is talking about where the porteur is fixed to the main structure of the building.
I know that déboutonnage can mean a peel test, which doesn't make sense (to me) in this context.
The object in this image looks like it performs a shear test, but it's called 'banc de traction de deboutonnage':
http://www.lepine-materiel.com/outils-de-test/9304-banc-de-t...
Therefore, I wonder whether deboutonnage can mean a shear test, which makes slightly more sense here, at least in my mind.
But I'm not at all sure what type of strength they are testing or how.
Thanks for your input!

face/plug/screw failure

Explanation:
"DÉBOUTONNAGE UNFASTENING
DÉBOUTONNAGE FACE FAILURE (PANEL AROUND TEAR)
DÉBOUTONNAGE PLUG FAILURE (SPOT WELD TEAR)" (from 80 - 00 - 001 / - - C GLOSSAIRE DE TERMINOLOGIE TECHNIQUE AUTOMOBILE FRANCAIS / ANGLAIS ANGLAIS / FRANCAIS, Renault 1998)

See the following for uses of "déboutonnage":
" Résistance admissible au déboutonnage des fixations sous vent normal en daN" (http://www.cstb.fr/pdf/atec/GS02-C/AC081331.pdf)
"Résistance admissible en déboutonnage des vis dans les panneaux VETISOL ELITE" (http://www.cstb.fr/pdf/atec/GS02-C/AC101419.pdf)

Seems to be a test to determine the force (i.e. wind strength) required for failure of the fixing (i.e. for the panel to be ripped off by the wind)

Here is a reference, but maybe it is too specific compared to your context?

pull-through

Explanation:
I first found the term in two European Technical Approval documents issued by the Centre Scientifique et Technique du Bâtiment (CSTB) in a context similar to yours:
Résistance au déboutonnage des fixations des profilés ≥ 500 N. and in the official English translation: Pull-through resistance of fixings from profile ≥ 500 N Found respectively at: http://webapp.cstb.fr/agrement-technique-europeen/pdf/Doc_ET... and http://www.mathys.be/sites/default/files/files/ETA14-0106_MU... For the second doc see in French and English respectively at: http://webapp.cstb.fr/agrement-technique-europeen/pdf/Doc_ET... and http://webapp.cstb.fr/agrement-technique-europeen/pdf/Doc_AT...

I then proceeded to search for the term pull-through directly in English and found among many examples: fastener pull-through resistance: This test method is designed to produce fastener pull-through resistance data for structural design allowables, research and development. The procedures may be used to assess pull-through resistance for a variety of composite laminate thicknesses, fastener diameters, and fastener head styles.
