Explanation:
It could be the ”old” one as you suspected.

It certainly could be the “original” as David pointed out, especially if you are replacing the existing one with a “special” instead of a new version of the same one.

It is definitely not the “current” one because the “current” is supposed to be the ”new” one you are going to install afterwards.

However, I think I got the idea you wanted to express with the word “current”. You probably meant “the one that's there now”, so I thought that the “existing” one could be a good translation in some cases.
