This event is going to the shit. Not to be confused with just being shit. The shit. Like bollocks, the definite article makes all the difference.
In my experience, the language employed in the biking community tends to be of a fruity, not to say industrial nature. If the French says the event is gonna be the shit, say so.

I agree Tony, but how would a slangy word for "mouth" ("trap" etc.) fit here? I'm thinking it's a bastardisation of that expression, and from how someone's used it on a blog I saw, "J'ai eut beau chercher sur le Web mais je chercher un p..... de wallpaper qui claque sa m... comme disent les djeun's " I'm also thinking it could mean "qui pète" "qui tue" type of thing, so could be translated by "killer event", it might fit - if the description of the event is positive. But if it's negative, I'm totally wrong!
