by mixing work - treating him - with pleasure - her affair with him Explanation: The common expression is "to mix work with pleasure". I think that might provide a more idiomatic rendering, although admittedly the original has a more technical feel and eschews the verb "mezclar". -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 3 hrs (2009-10-09 15:04:33 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- that should read "their affair", not "her affair with him" |

By having Explanation: Awkward! This might work? Dunno if I'm overstepping the mark with the 'affair' though? At any rate, I hope it helps. Suerte :) -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 9 hrs (2009-10-09 20:44:29 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Hi Eileen, The Sopranos! Ha, and there was me thinking I was overstepping the mark with ‘affair’... I have to say, I was a little confused with the Art/Literary - Psychology/Ethics categories earlier... I think hjs45 is spot on in thinking it’s the “mixing business with pleasure” ethic at play here. I was toying with ‘juggling’, 'intertwining', 'intermingling' or simply ‘mixing’, when I first looked at this earlier; perhaps one of these would work? One idea: By juggling her [new-found] relationship with treating Tony again, was Dr. Melfi not just creating a personal conflict that could... Example sentence(s):

simoultaneously Explanation: Hi Eileen, I hope you are fine. You know, in Psychology we have something called "series" that is a way to order aspects of the life, for instance the series of affects, the work related, etc. But in this context, I think it refers to do something at the same time of other thing, like to overlap two things that trigger in an unethical behaviour as a result. Please let me know if you agree or send me a bit of more context and I might lend you a hand better. Thank you, Saludos, Ximena. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 2 hrs (2009-10-09 13:51:00 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- I have a Typo sorry is "simultaneously" -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 6 hrs (2009-10-09 18:22:30 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Hola Eileen, como estás?
