Another hotel name from the same long list. It's the アルファク that I can't get, am assuming the end is:

'Rest Yamanaka-Ko" or Lake Yamanaka ..... Rest

Susan, I think you might be taking this a little too far. Please check the spelling of Alpha in your answer before you continue to point out the flaws in my linguistic training and judgment. Also what is your explanation about "Crest"'s C should be upper case as this is a Proper Noun? This is very basic rule every linguist must know.

I do not think "implicit" is just as important as "explicit". If implicit should be counted in your evaluation for awarding points, I am afraid to say this but your judgement is not sound. Do not take me wrong as I am speaking from fairness standpoint.

I appreciate your explicitly pointing out the アルファク vs アルファ division problem, but this was implicit in both Kaori's and VN Ganesh's answers. I hope you don't feel cheated by the selection. Hi Michelle, I believe you gave the point to wrong answer. If these are Crest hotel group, then it should be in upper case, as it is Proper Noun. Also I am the one who point out about your Rest misunderstanding. Plese rectify your action.

As for English spelling, I did not see any as a result of Googling.
My guess is they themselves don't know (unless they encounter urgent needs to appeal English speaking clientale). So my best bet is call and ask them.
Failing that then you have to apply the closest phonetical approximation such as this.
By the way, I do not believe this Katakana part should be devided in two part as you suggested, namely アルファク + レスト. アルファ and クレスト is more likely.
