Summary:
Asset management and investment funds: the highest-paying field of financial translation.
Description
Asset management is the management of a client's investments by a financial services company. The company (usually an investment bank) will invest on behalf of its clients and give them access to a wide range of traditional and alternative products that would not be to the average investor. Here is the interesting part: all this management produces a lot of documentation (factsheets, prospectuses, reports, press realeases, website content...) that must be delivered to the clients in their own language (it is mandatory for factsheets and prospectuses). This kind of translations are ordered by high-paying and reliable clients and they tend to be large projects.

Hi Andrea,
And thanks Helen!
That's right: it will be more like a lecture, as you say. Anyway, I will include some translation examples from English into French, Spanish, Italian and German. Anyway, they are presented as an exercise (or "homework", if you like). Translators are encouraged to translate the examples into their own target languages once they get all the training material. At the end of the webinar, I will give some tips on how to get a job in this industry and... See more

At the end of the webinar, I will give some tips on how to get a job in this industry and I'll be happy to answer any questions that may arise. In addition, I will provide some resources (such as glossaries, dictionaries, specialized websites, databases...) that may come in handy.
