» Challenges and nature of a formal language strategy
By Jean-Marie Le Ray | Published 07/4/2007 | Marketing Your Language Services | Recommendation:RateSecARateSecARateSecARateSecARateSecI
In a document presented in November 2005 to the Council, the European Parliament, the Economic and Social Committee and the Committee of the Regions and entitled A New Framework Strategy for Multilingualism, the European Commission announced a study on the impact on the European economy of shortages of language skills to be published in 2006.

The study is now available and freely downloadable on the Net, in English and French.
» The Communicational Circuit of Translation
By Jean-Marie Le Ray | Published 10/5/2007 | Marketing Your Language Services | Recommendation:RateSecARateSecARateSecARateSecARateSecI
Thanks to the Internet, the time has come for translation to finally become what it has been since the dawn of time: pure communication...
» Marketing for Translators: how to create a compelling domain name or tagline to boost your business?
By Jean-Marie Le Ray | Published 06/21/2011 | Marketing Your Language Services | Recommendation:RateSecARateSecARateSecARateSecARateSecI
Actually, it’s quite difficult for translators to create an original dot-com: there are currently 15,532 domain names with TRANSLATION inside! So I analyzed these 15,532 dot-com names in order to identify creative paths and I finished to come up with 9 useful paths to create compelling domain names or taglines. Let’s see how I proceeded to get this result.
» What are language services really worth in today's global market?
By Jean-Marie Le Ray | Published 02/13/2013 | Business Issues | Recommendation:RateSecARateSecARateSecARateSecARateSecI
On December 6, 2012, the Translators Association of China (TAC) celebrated its 30th anniversary in Beijing. For the occasion, the first part of a two-volume annual report on China's translation industry was also issued to attendees, which seems to contradict most of our accepted truths about the global language market. Are the values underestimated or overestimated? Who’s doing which? And is there some happy medium at the heart of it all?
By Jean-Marie Le Ray | Published 04/27/2014 | French | Recommendation:RateSecARateSecARateSecARateSecARateSecI
By Jean-Marie Le Ray | Published 05/5/2014 | Technology | Not yet recommended
