After graduating in communication and interculturality, with experience of study abroad (Japan), I took an internship in Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur and Borneo) in a local DMC. This gave me the opportunity to acquire many skills: definitely spoken and written English in the workplace, as well as a primary language for every day, getting used to using it fluently. Working and living in a foreign country, living both the metropolis and in a small city in Borneo, have strengthened my spirit of adaptation and resourcefulness. Back in Italy I worked for a year in the foreign sales office for a local company, deepening the aspects of sales and marketing, also participating to national trade fairs in the sector. I decided to spend the following year in Australia, in Melbourne, working for various local realities always in direct contact with the public. As with the Malaysian experience, this period was also fundamental for expanding my knowledge of spoken and written English, both in the workplace and day to day life, but above all to strengthen a sense of independence and adaptability. Back in Italy again, I started my journey for a local tour operator of tailor-made trips for groups, a very particular and distinct sector compared to the classic travel agencies. This work summarizes a bit all the previous experiences, the interpersonal relationship with the public, linguistic competence for the relationships with suppliers, organizational skills. The fascination for different cultures and the curiosity continues towards the other is certainly a fundamental trait in my work. At the moment I mainly deal with the commercial sector, looking for new customers and managing the acquired package, together with the marketing aspect of the product. |
