Testo originale - Inglese Carved out of the heart of the Amazonian wilderness at the confluence of the Rio Negro and the Amazon, Manaus is a fascinating city that reflects the wealth that came from the export of rubber in the late 1800´s. Today the centre of a rapidly developing region, the city still boasts its old-world mansions and monuments, now set among skyscrapers. Your first stop will be a visit to the Rio Negro Palace which now serves as the seat of State Government and is a beautiful example of the architecture of the rubber golden period. From here you will travel to visit the Indian Museum, run by the Salesianas Congregation.
