Nomi (persone, società) / list of patronages
Termine o frase Italiano: provincia
In a list of Italian organizations giving their support and/or patronage to a conference, the majority have official English names (chambers of commerce, bank foundations and government bodies and one will be left in Italian (Confindustria), but two do not have an official English name.... I'm not too happy with some in English and some not.... any suggestions?
I'm also undecided as to translate Provincia as Provincial Administration or Provincial Government.

In the context, "The Province of Rimini". The "Provincial Government of Rimini" sounds horrible to my ear and government can be safely left out just as "council" is in British English for counties.

A lot of other people think that county is sufficiently precise in English and a lot of other people think that provincia is sufficiently precise in Italian. Ask yourself the question, whether you think anybody is going to find it confusing and misinterpret it if you put don't put government. To me "government" or "administration" is unnecessary extra verbiage, which also sounds a little unnatural.
However, your unwillingness to give extra context means that after nine hours you have only one answer.

The glossary reference is where the asker specifically asked for provincia in the sense of the government, but here and also in most cases the context makes it clear that it is the government of the province, where province is a metonym for government of the province, as in "He drank the bottle."
Having said all that, it hardly matters which you put really, either will do.

We asked for the original source text. All we got was one word and another two after asking. I had no idea what to do with "provincia" on its own, until you added "... di Rimini". You presumed it was clear, before, but it wasn't, at least not to me. When I post, I usually copy and paste in ten or more lines. That also tends to save time explaining, because most things are then self-evident.

Richiedente: A lot of people seem to think that using just Province (or County) is not sufficiently precise, as it is (obviously) not the Country that inspects or operates, but its authorities or representative, so prefer to add something to that effect - you consider this superfluous, I gather.

Richiedente: I indicated absolutely all the context... describing (I presumed clearly) the project I was working on.... no "unwillingness" on my behalf, as I wanted and have greatly appreciated assistance recieved in the past.

Richiedente: received

Richiedente: my indecision was in fact between Provincial Administration and Provincial Government, both of which seem quite "popular" in the glossary you indicate.
