Appear in a list of possible members of the BD. However, sindaco and revisore are both translated as 'auditor' so what would the difference be in Italian? I doubt it that the text is repeating itself?

I have the impression that "sindaco" is one of the members of the "collegio sindacale" which is usually transalted with "board of (statutory) auditors". Instead, "revisore" is someone that companies which are not required by law to appoint a COLLEGIO SINDACALE may appoint to check accounting.
To make the distinction where I work we usually use "statutory auditors" for sindaci (implying that their presence is required by law) while simply auditors for "revisore". This is something that is used where I work, I am not sure if there is a more precise translation.
