Ho trovato una definizione per planings (Recycled tarmac 'planed' off roads using machinery. Planings may have a high bitumen content, may vary in size and contain aggregate materials such as gravel) ma non saprei bene come chiamarlo in italiano. Grazie mille!

Si tratta di una tecnica di pavimentazione stradale che ricorre al riciclaggio del pavimento esistente.
La pavimentazione esistente (conglomerato bituminoso) viene sottoposta a fresatura con apposite macchine (la fresatura può essere a freddo o a caldo).
Dal conglomerato bituminoso fresato si ottiene del materiale sciolto costituito da aggregati lapidei avvolti nel bitume che opportunamente gradati (selezionati secondo granulometria) possono essere riutilizzati per nuove pavimentazioni con aggiunta di bitume, cemento e leganti specifici.

Material removed from the reconstruction or rehabilitation of asphalt roads by means of a planing machine. When accepting these materials the provenance of the material should be checked. It is possible that materials from deep planing of old roads contain tar products and generally should be disposed of as hazardous wastes and not recycled (in some situations tar bound planings may be recycled by in-situ and ex-situ cold processes in agreement with the Environment Agency).
