Merge large number of files and filter out locked segments in Trados Studio 2017?

I have just finished working on a project in Trados Studio 2017 which involved translating a few segments from around 80 large files containing a large number of locked segments. Not being all that familiar with some of the functions of Studio 2017, I found the job extremely tedious. Is there any way to merge all 80 files into one large file and then filter out all the locked segments?

Hi Kieran,

you can select all the files in the "files" section in Trados and then click on "open for translation". This opens the editor with all files in one window, with tags marking the beginning and end of each file. In the "review" tab you can then select the filter to only display unlocked segments.

If your files are very large though, this usually slows Trados down quite a bit. I'm not sure if there's a solution for that other than opening fewer files at the same... See more
