I have received what seems to be a new scam through my ProZ account. Has anyone else received anything like this, and how can I avoid this problem? I have left out the name but included the IP number as this may help to establish if this is a scam or not. I have already blocked the IP number but is that enough?

This one has been around for some time. I received a similar e-mail at least twice, which was dully reported to ProZ.com staff who removed the profile.

I have had some of these forwarded to me. They come with a link to click on to report them as spam. Click on it and you will get an acknowledgement from ProZ staff.
That's really all you need to do apart from deleting it from your computer afterwards.

Madeleine, this type of messages are sent via proz profiles, so IMO no spam filter will help here. Somebody creates a fake profile to send these messages. I received the same one as Paul and submitted a support ticket. Apparently the proz staff follows this problem - they deleted the fake profile.

And the IP address provided by Paul strikes a chord... This would be the nth attempt made by the same person(s) to "get in touch" with ProZ.com users.

Do not reply to such messages, otherwise you will end up in spammer's data bases. Your address is safe unless you reply...
