Finnish term

ö

Finnish to English Art/Literary Names (personal, company) Proper noun
Umlauts in Finnish?

Is there any way that I can type ‘ö’ as English alphabet?
I have found that this can be changed to ‘oe’ as I have seen in German word like "München" is "Muenchen". But that is not really Finnish language, and I cannot use umlauts in a context.
For example, if the name “Väätäinen” ,can I write as “vaeaetaeinen”? or just “Vaatainen” is simply better?

I appreciate your help.

Preferable to stick to Scandinavian orthography

In the times of modern technology, it should not be impossible for you to use "ä" or "ö", when required. There are various ways how you can do it. However, if it is impossible for some reason, I would prefer "a" and "o", like international media has done with the Finnish F1 drivers' surnames Häkkinen and Räikkönen (Hakkinen and Raikkonen). The umlauts look AWFUL in Finnish words. Most often Finns will be able to "correct" the words not written with /ä/ or /ö/ in their minds to the right spelling.

ALT+148

You could always use extended ASCII codes found on the numeric keypad: http://www.asciitable.com
lower case ä = ALT + 132
upper case Ä = ALT + 142
lower case ö = ALT + 148
upper case Ö = ALT + 153
Note from asker:
Thank you but unfortunately my question was not about keyboard usage.
