Typewritten documents can be privately distributed while other publications usually have to go through the editorial review process of the medium. In English, "manuscripts" would have covered both handwritten and typed documents (though ambiguously) but in Greek "δακτυλογραφήματα" does not. It is restricted to typewritten documents. :)

Yet it does. However, it can also mean typing generally, as in typewritten words, phrases, sentences, and texts.

If this means "typewritten documents", I'm not sure why they'd single them out for special mention.
