Recently finished a ginormous document on dam safety in Brazil (from Portuguese). It took me 6 weeks. The original was a PDF file with tiny print; my eyes are still recovering.

A paper on "maternal waiting homes," also known as "homes for expectant mothers." The idea is to provide residential care for women in remote areas with high-risk pregnancies. The concept has already deeply slashed the rates for maternal and neonatal death in developing countries.

Delivered the big job on health in the Americas this morning and an hour later was given two more jobs, this time on health and ethnicity. The bigger one is 27,000 words. All Spanish to English. I wish I'd get some work from Portuguese, but it rarely happens.

27,000 words (ES>EN) on health in the Americas. Right now I'm doing a big chunk on universal health care. Everything it says is the antithesis of what I'm hearing in the U.S. health care debate these days.
