I come from South Italy, precisely from a place known as "the city of two seas". I have lived and carried out my university studies in another city people often refer to as "the Florence of the South". Over the last 5 years I have used to call "home" different places in Europe, from the UK to Sweden, going through Denmark, Germany and Austria. My name is Francesco Barbati, and I’m happy to have joined the ProZ.com community!

My academic background is in modern languages, literature and literary translation (Italy) and communication studies (Sweden). With regards to the translation field, while on the one hand I have professional experience in business/marketing translation (mainly, but not only, e-commerce and qualitative studies), on the other hand I carried out translation tasks ranging among: political/legal texts, social media content as well as of briefings and reports, when I worked at the European Parliament; journalistic pieces as being an active member of the Cafébabel community; customer service. I also have experience in subtitling, content and editorial planning, concept and implementation, and proofreading of documents and app guidelines.
