Description:
The dictionary has the clear structure of all Alcaraz-Varó dictionaries, but with some very interesting features e.g. source and target terms embedded in the description of the term; sample sentences containing the terms; a specification of the general area of the term (pharmacology, biology, health services, general...). A very interesting dictionary, and a promising project if the Academies of the Americas join the project in the future.
I have recently purchased this first published edition of the dictionary and love it. Although it could be more comprehensive, it is quite an achievement for a first edition. I quite like the descriptions of many terms with English terms already in the definition, as a sort of cross-reference.
I find this dictionary useful. However, it contains entries not related with pharmacy, or for some entries it provides acceptations from other fields (finance, legal). For example, “costa”, “casco”, “cuota”, “oportuno”, “orden”, “ordinario”. I have not find that I expected from a specialized dictionary.
