I was born in Switzerland and am a bilingual native speaker in Italian and German. I have a double career as an academic (South Asian history) and as an interpreter-cum-translator in the field of asylum practices.
I obtained my PhD in South Asian History from ETH Zurich in 2016. A book publication based on my thesis, which analyzes historical sources in Urdu and Hindi, is currently under review with Routledge. I have studied Urdu and Hindi at the South Asian Institute of the University of Heidelberg (Germany) where I have obtained my Masters degree in 2009. Since 2014 I am working as an interpreter and translator (Urdu-Italian) for an organization offering legal and social support to asylum seekers and refugess seekers in Trieste (Italy).
