This is about dematerialisation of documents, here in relation to land registry and buildings registry documents. The sentence is:

"... acquisizione ottica dei documenti inerenti ai modelli di impianto del catasto terreni e del catasto fabbricati."

As I understand it, these documents are converted into electronic form for electronic storage. But what exactly are "modelli di impianto"?? Is "modello" translatable as "form" here? Could they be "plan forms", or "plan templates"?
