as beneficiary Spiegazione: Depending on the context, it could be that YYY has taken out insurance policies specifying XXX as beneficiary, which could be the case if there is a financial lease or some similar arrangement in place. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 30 mins (2011-06-24 08:53:07 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- "Led by" does sound a bit odd. If you could copy in some more text from the original (or the translation if easeier) it might help to see what they are getting at. |

with XXX as lead insurer Spiegazione: hence the 'led by' In insurance 'delega' = lead insurer / lead company Lead Insurer / Lead Underwriter - The Lead insurer concept arises where a risk is shared by a number of insurance companies, usually on a proportionate basis. Generally (but not always) the lead insurer accepts the largest percentage of the risk, then sets the premium and terms of coverage by which the remaining insurers will follow. (In hard market cycles, the following insurers may seek to change the terms set by the lead, or even negotiate separate terms and conditions which only apply for their proportions.) -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 5 hrs (2011-06-24 14:01:23 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- 'led by' is a bit ambiguous so I'd definitely change to 'with XXX as Lead Insurer" or similar wording -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 6 hrs (2011-06-24 14:56:15 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- And here's the Italian: DELEGATARIA Quando un'assicurazione viene ripartita in quote fra varie società partecipanti al medesimo rischio con unica polizza, l'impresa contraente viene definita Delegataria in quanto ottiene "delega" da tutte le altre coassicuratrici ad operare la gestione del contratto, ivi compresa la funzione di esazione dei premi in scadenza. Vedi anche Compagnia delegataria. http://www.credipass.it/strumenti/glossario-assicurazioni.ht... (As you can see I turned the sentence around a bit to avoid directly translating 'delega', which wouldn't work in En) -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 6 hrs (2011-06-24 14:56:49 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- so in fact delegataria = lead insurer |
