This clothe has been touched by the holy tongue of tha Saint from Padua Spiegazione: It should be "Tela toccata dalla santa lingua del santo di Padova" It probably refers to Saint Antony from Padova. The cloth on the back is a relic |

cloth touched by the holy tongue of Saint Anthony of Padua Spiegazione: Saint Anthony is the patron saint of Padua and his remains are housed in the cathedral there (the "Santo"). The story goes that his vault was reopened 30 years after entombment and although his flesh was reduced to dust, his tongue was still intact - hence your reference. "At Padua, a magnificent basilica was built in his honor, his holy relics were entombed there in 1263 A. D. When the vault in which for thirty years his sacred body had reposed was opened, the flesh was found reduced to dust but the tongue uninjured, fresh, and of a lively red colour."
