Here is a tool that I think might be quite useful:

http://text-mining-tool.com/

It extracts raw text from PDF, HTM, DOC and RTF files, without the need for any additional applications. Might be good for some quick pricing or for those cases when the agency absolutely refuses to pay any formatting/OCR/conversion bonus...

It also claims to do CHM files, but it doesn't. I have no idea who created this tool, so I can't send a bugreport.

Hi! Convert chm to .pdf files and then extract. there are free tools chm2pdf.exe but I do not remember where I found them, pretty useful though. Best regards, Brandis
Hi! I have just now tried it, it is not bad at all. I found additionally another linein plug-in to measure engg. diagrams or distances etc., in a .pdf file. Trialware ofcourse.
